Hi there, just coming out of hibernation! One thing though - isn't there usually an AGM about this time of year? - not seen any emails about it!
Looking forward to getting on the water before too long, and catching up with everyone!

I've managed to wangle a free weekend, so I'm planning to go too! :D It will mark ten years since my first Nomads trip... to Daymer. Quite an eventful one I seem to remember! Always was one of my favourite venues, and it's been a while since we've had good winds for the Nomads trip there. For...

Well, I'm not volunteering to be the club's photographer but here's one I took of the interpid Nomads who ventured out! Oops don't seem to be able to post pictures - no hope then! This was a 'family' visit for me, but I managed to squeeze a board and some small sails in the Sharan, just in case! We ...

Thanks for the photos Greg, there's one of me (no 155), although I'm hidden behind the sail and the board has disappeared beneath the soup! Yes, I'd forgotten just how sandy everything gets, packing up. Welcome to the WSM experience! First time out for me this year too, and combination of very lumpy...

Car park is 80p/hour but you can redeem some of it in the cafe.
Given what happened last Saturday I doubt I'll be in a hurry to return - still smarting from that!

Oh [expletive deleted]! It looks like I should have joined you guys at Oxwich. I'm afraid I got skunked at Overcombe. I was late getting going and by the time I got on the water (2pm) the wind was fading. I had a short wobble out and back (5m sail/85l waveboard). Later it seemed to pick up again and...

OK thanks Adrian, I think I'll head for Overcombe also - nearest for me and a favourite too. Hopefully my 4.5m sail will be small enough!
Have a good day everyone, wherever you go!

Hi there! Well amazingly I have a pass out for Saturday and I intend to make the most of it! At Portland the tide will be very low so I would say 'don't go there'! Hamworthy will work well in an easterly, but it's just short chop (if you like that sort of thing). Alternatives with the possibility of...

It was great to get back out at WSM on Saturday, finally let out for good behaviour! :D Some very easy (for WSM) conditions but very enjoyable all the same, and given my current fitness level (zero) it was very manageable with 5.7m sail. Some very nice little waves to play with on the way back in, s...

Good to hear you had a good sail - worth the trip by the sounds of it! The session at WSM was shorter but definitely exciting. Quite big waves rolling in, and some real munchers even out back. Wind up and down - started on 5.7m on waveboard (85l) but when the wind dropped changed to bigger board (ea...

Oh well, looks like I'd be Billy No-mates! Perhaps I'll just do WSM instead!
As Martin points out, it looks like it could be tricky at Bigbury in westerly winds, especially as the tide will be going out (Causeway exposed).

Bigbury this w/e

Forecast looking very tempting for the away weekend, although I'd probably only manage one day. Anyone else thinking of going?

Nigel, the car park is the one identified on the ordnance survey map, and also the PH.
See you there!
