Sat 18th April 2015 Portland - Top Banana!!

Well in the end decided to stick to my original plan and go to Portland. Got down there for 1 to have some lunch :) Also someone was kind enough to leave an all-day parking ticket. Signs for a Good Day :) A bit of a trek to the sea, but hey we do that at Weston!! On the water for 2, on my Starboard ...

Re: Portland

Spoke to Weather Guru Sue, who has give advice on tides down at Portland, I should know this but too lazy to learn Ha Ha, Looks like Hamworthy could be the best option? Any Takers? From Sue: The tides are really poor though - basically the plug will have been pulled out, so it will be a very long wa...

Portland

I'm thinking of going to Portland tomorrow, surprise no Nomads have mentioned it on the Forum as it's gonna be sunny and windy tomorrow.
Anyone else thinking of going, or any other sailing plans?

Re: Sat 1st Portland

Made a last minute decision to go to Portland, as it’s looking good outside. Time I packed, got myself sorted and drove to Portland I was there for 1pm, just in time for lunch 8) After lunch, doing a rekkie and looking at the conditions, it looked breezy, but people were struggling to get going near...

Zip replacement / wetsuit repair

Just a mention if you need a zip replacement, which I needed for my Neil Pryde drysuit. Yep the horizontal heavyduty zip! Done at a very, very competitive price by The Wetsuit Repair Company in Cornwall, as most were coming in very expensive! It looked like a new suit would be the way to go :( I'm v...

Thought it would be good if we sign to post your views here, then saves time going through thousands to see what fellow Nomads had to say. My parents used this place as a family day-out, so fond childhood memories. I am still visiting as a windsurfer and also when the wind doesn't blow can enjoy the...

Another good sunny day at WSM, I was on my Syncro and 5.2m Rock again and getting in a few jumps. It made my day when Justin said he saw me go for one and told me it looked bloody high and would have made a perfect picture with all the spray that was created from the jump! WSM can punish you when yo...

Didn’t think it was going to be a windy day or sunny! After checking the Nomads posting to see that people were going down to Hamworthy I checked the Poole web cam and it didn’t look that windy but it looked like it could pick up! 11am I decided to ditch doing my jobs around the house and gamble on ...

Classic day out, my most enjoyable session down Weston this year. Got some air time too, it just happens at WSM :) My only complaint was I didn't get there earlier due to supervising a tree surgeon. I couldn't leave it to my neighbour as he wanted the tree gone and the tree to me is a friend, as my ...

A enjoyable day out with good company. I had a few good runs but found it hard going out, not enough power for me. But fine coming in. So after 45 mins decided to change the Evo 75 to the Syncro 103 and still keep the 5.2. This worked a lot better for me as I'm still finding my WSM wings. Having fun...
