Sorry no map. Yes it gets muddy, only really worth it in the summer once everything has dried out. We were up there last week and apart from us there were several others scooting around. And there are usually at least a few kids in the quarry on a weekend.

Westridge woods near Wotton under edge

Hi, This is what I consider my local patch. Its perfect for a weekday evening ride after work in the summer, when the mud has dried out and there are only a few random dog walkers to worry about. There is a set of bridleways to ride, plus some cheeky singletrack, and even some dirt jumps in an old d...

Radical; if only my windsurfing had attained this level. Sadly I think I only achieved remedial or possibly referable. Mountain biking is great fun though isn't it? LOL The old trees swaying in the wind thing hasn't really grabbed me for more than a year now, either they haven't been swaying or I ha...

Giving it up, selling it all off

:( After some thought I have decided to give up doing or claiming to do this wonderful sport we call windsurfing. It has been a blast, but unfortunately new diversions have come along, and I can no longer justify keeping all the equipement when its only losing value and not getting wet anymore. So I...

There's no way I can compete with any of that  Still though just recently I have thought about logging all of my sessions, not just for what/where/when but also to keep a check on the total hours used on each piece of equipment, down to which boom, fin, mast base I've used and so on. Just usef...

Hi Adrian yes I think we have met but I usually keep a low profile so I rarely get recognized in public 8) Yes I should have borrowed a boom, didn't think of that at the time. I was quite pleased with my self-rescue efforts though. I was going to speak to the jet ski lot to reassure them that if any...

I went to Newton today :) Great place why have I never sailed there before? Easy launching with progressively bigger lumps as you get out. What's not to like (apart from the M4). There was a large student presence, holding some kind of competition. Also at least a few of the BWA were there. So I rig...

Me? Not even been out this last month. There have been some days where I perhaps could/should have gone to Newton like some of you did. But I'm getting so out of practice that I find a big day quite scary now, when in my younger days I would have been a lot more gung-ho. Last good sail was at Portla...

Hi Sue Yes it is a great place, I don't think I've ever been disappointed going there even though it is quite a long trek. Highlight for me was probably a few years ago when I went down in mid week, to find the speed event was on and a certain Mr Dunkerbeck was taking part :D My tip for the route is...

I have a pass for tomorrow Saturday, but Sunday would tax the diplomatic skills of ... a very diplomatic being from the planet Diplomaticon IV.

Plus, I am getting a bit rusty at this windsurfing lark.

Can't I just go out on the mountain bike instead

7am on a Sunday? W-S-M on a bank-holiday Monday? You guys are crazy! Still not as crazy as going to Weymouth for the day. It really is too far I have now decided. Even taking the western approach into the town to avoid the known roadworks and very long delays on the main Dorchester-W road, it still ...
