I haven't tried for around 20 years  Last time I did, I couldn't find a suitable / tempting launch spot with nearby parking.

People do launch from Thornbury sailing club - but I would imagine they would want you to be a member etc......

Our day was similar to Keith''s but we faffed for longer, so by the time we got on the water, we were able to plane easily, a bit too easily on the gusts. We had a good hour or so of this to dust off cobwebs as our first sail of the year. When the wind first kicked in I came ashore considering skipp...

Rode the motorbike West along the M4 about 6:30 last night - found my visor distorting under the pressure of the gusts! Never noticed that before

Nice to get out and do a significant portion of the total year's sailing so far in a single weekend. Sunday felt much more controllable than Sat but that might have been because I was beginning to remember how to sail. 2 back to back days on a 78lt wave board with 4.6m sail in August can't be bad. A...

Beer festival is starting to get very close now - the brewery has confirmed they can get hold of the beer list for us with only one minor change :-).

If you would like to come along, please let me know ASAP.

Cheers,
Ian

Next thing we know you'll be sailing with brute force, not technique and muscling the sail down ontop of yourself in the gusts  :-)OO Whats wrong with follow...
