I was going to suggest a ride on my patch as you say, although it's not very technical. Could start at the little car park at bottom off Goblin Combe (just off the A370 near Lord Nelson Pub in Cleeve). I've got a route that minimises the road sections. Aim to meet at 10.00am for a start at about 10....

Well, it looks like I might actually be able to get out on my bike - for the first time in over a year  . Given my state of fitness, "shorter and more leisurely" sounds about right. Somewhere local(ish) would be good too; given the recent dry weather, no need to travel to the Welsh trails. Ne...

Thanks again, Viv, Martin, Nigel.
Fortunately, Denise has the feeding 'equipment' and also I'm a heavy sleeper, so generally miss the night-time mayhem!

I think you missed a couple of steps in the communications process!!!! Yes, sorry, it's been quite a momentous and life-changing year! I haven't seen you in ages, but quite a lot has happened, so hope to catch up with you all either on a board or a bike before too long - if I'm allowed out! Thanks ...

The youngest Nomad!

Hi everyone, Al and Denise are delighted and proud to announce the birth, this morning, of our baby son, John Murray Donald, weight 7lbs 13oz. Mother and baby doing well. Father feeling the weight of responsibility on his shoulders! Hopefully he will make an appearance on a beach sometime soon. Migh...

WSM yesterday

Well, I got out for the first time since last July! Arrived at beach to see Tony (Low) having just come ashore with one of his front teeth in his hand! Big black clouds on horizon - not too promising then. Oh well, rigged 5.7m on F2 Wave. Had a couple of runs before being pelted with heavy s...

Nigel, I think the record is still held by Adrian at 32.2kts (37mph), so you need to try harder! Good to hear the wind has arrived at last. Have fun!

Hi Nigel,
at the moment, it seems 'life' is getting in the way of biking (and windsurfing). We are away tomorrow, and I have lots of decorating to complete, which will account for Sunday. I hope to get some time off for good behaviour before too long!
Have a good ride.

Croft Farm

Well, there was just Keith and me at the Old Barn! Where was everyone?! There wasn't much enthusiasm for going to Croft Farm on Sunday. In any case there is a T15 race meeting on then, so there would be even less water to sail on! I'm not aware of an 'official' alternative venue for Sunday. The fore...

It now looks like there will be enough wind at Weston tomorrow to avoid the trip to Portland.
If the wind at Axbridge is anything to go by, then Weston should have been good today, as long as the wind arrived before the water disappeared!
High tide tomorrow about 1-1.15pm?

Thanks Richard, hope you have a good weekend.
Monday is looking favourable for a trip to Portland. The traffic could be an issue, but I might go anyway. Weston is a possibility, but less wind and probably similar traffic!

Bank Holiday weekend

The club's events seem to have been pretty much windsurfing-free this year, so how about trying to set up an impromtu event over the bank holiday weekend. It looks like there could be some useable wind on the south coast (esp Portland - and neap tides too) and also out at west Wales. Anyone up for i...

Thanks to the excellent navigational skills of Nigel and Martin we had an interesting and enjoyable ride. The frequent stops were welcome as I was suffering due to a lack of fitness and the heat. I bailed out of the final climb up to Gray Hill, and was glad I did so - decidedly groggy on the drive h...

Nigel, how about Wentwood as it's a bit closer. Maybe we can follow an old route from your GPS. I'd be looking for a late start though, say midday. I'll try to speak to you later.

this weekend

Doesn't look like much wind about this weekend, so how about biking somewhere. The ground should be quite dry now so perhaps somewhere other than the usual trails?? I hope to get some new bits fitted to my bike before then. Probably Sunday preferred - holiday traffic on Saturday!
