The wonders of the high speed camera.

There are some great photos and I would love a HD copy of this sequence.

You can even see Rob in the background, acting as sweeper.

A great days ride, but the wind could be bitter at times and although it was warm, you could still see some remnants of the snow in the distance. Altogether there were 14 of us, which was quite a large group, with Kelvin and Rob being to be the fittest of the bunch. As mentioned by Kelvin, there wer...

Matt,
Adrian, Martin and I are leaving from here at 8.45. Phone on the home line if you would like a lift share, although I suspect your preferred route will avoid the Severn Bridge.

The meeting place is fairly obvious: it is a short strip of road between the pub/s and the co-op/newsagents. I will leave my mobile switched on.

In the past we have stopped half way around, for a bite to eat at the tea shop.

Hope to see you there.

Matt guided us around Cranham Woods, including a welcome pub break, which I am sure was less stressful than Kelvin's excursion. My GPS showed 9 miles and 1,800 ft ascended. A map is attached. There were some great single track sections. I attached a set of new cleats to my shoes before the ride and ...

Adrian

15.6 miles and 2,876 ft ascended. (By way of comparison, a round of Cwm Carn is 7.9 mi and 2,200 ft ascended)

It felt longer, which may be due to my age or the mud

A GPX file is attached which can be openend in Google earth and a Fugawi File

Adrian and I join Rob, Vicky and others for a ride around Landsdown. Although I was aware of the its reputation, this was the first time I have ridden there when it has not been bone dry. The going was soggy to heavy in places and a number of walkers commented on how muddy we all looked. There was s...

We had a better day than Adrian. As all good days do, we started with a change of plan. We went over to Glyncorrwg to join Kelvin and BWA friends for a round of Whites. Although the weather was overcast and chilly, it was an excellent ride. It was just right for my current level of fitness: the Whit...

The sunny side does not look quite so sunny from the East shore. It looks very white, not unlike the Cornish Alps.

Twelve of us ( inc Rob, Vicky, Steve, Viv, Adrian & myself) trekked up/down/across to Bracknell, now the snow has receded. The going varied from firm to soggy to muddy to snowy to icy to flooded, sometimes combining any two or three states at the same time. We managed to achieve five good full b...

Still Woods

From, BMBC "You may have noticed the talk about Still Woods. For those who don’t know, it is a small wood owned by the University that has had a number of DH trails, built primarily by the University club. With immediate effect, Still Woods is closed to cyclists while the University land owner ...
