The muddy side

I pottered down to Weston for a bit of Nomad watching. I found two rare examples (for WSM) in the shallows of specus Martin Farrimondus and Tony Lowiticus. There was also the more plentiful Mat and many further examples whose Latin names I could not remember. Most seemed to be attached to 5.5sq m of...

Enjoy. However, my bike is in bits and it will be a couple of weeks before my front forks will be fixed by Pace. It might be windy though.

Great company and a lovely little ride around Ashton Court and Leigh Woods. :D Stats: 16.2 miles and 1,700 ft climbed. It would have been more if Adrian had managed to persuade us to throw ourselves off the cliff edge. He found one launch point – which came highly recommended - where, judging from t...

May Bank Holiday At WSM

I missed Sunday's sail at WSM, as I had a better offer to explore Wansdyke. However, three separate people all told me the same story; how they arrived to find a F5 blowing, rigged up and.........yes, you know the answer, nothing. This may help explain why, when I arrive two and a half hours before ...

As mentioned, we did not keep to my original intention of 30 miles, but I have set a new personal best of 35.3m and 3,200 ft climbed. Although it did not feel as hard work, this was slightly more demanding than my only other ride on the Ridgeway, when we lost our way. The ride was given a definite b...

May Day

If the forecast holds I will be heading to WSM. It is begining to look promising, although the thought of the journey back does not appeal

I am desperate for my first sail of the season

A local ride would be very attractive providing we can agree on a definition of local as being less than 30 miles (in the saddle)

Martin and I decided on a last minute visit to the FoD. I was a little nervous as it had rained fairly heavily on Saturday, but aside from a few small damp patches the trail was dry. Sounds better than Penhydd or it was until I took Martin on a detour through a bog at the end of the ride, just to sh...

Kel OK, I confess, I had my eyes closed at the time  . Although it might explain why I hit the ramps faster that normal. We opted for the pub in preference to the cafe, but a 20 mins wait for service is already a vast improvement. Adrian, I am still not convinced that '34 miles' and 'leisurely...

I felt positively youthful, riding with a group of prospective grandparents. But unfortunately, they were still faster than me on the downhills. Martin was on fire clearing most of the uphill obstacles. I too might have cleared the Cwm Carn trail if it had not been for the concrete ramp...

I look forward to joining you on Sunday and Martin will probably be coming along for the ride. :D Is "(limping appropriately)" an anagram of the start time or is this another malady? Thanks for the offer of a Newbury ride Adrian, however I am not sure my bike can travel that far. :ro...

Is anyone coming out to play this weekend?

Not even a fart is forecast for Weston on Windguru.
