Hi Liddlerich I'm about to go up to Axbridge now as I can't sit here in this windy weather and not go anywhere. It will be fantastic up there. I was told last weekend that I couldn't sail there today as it's a non club sailing day. I am hoping that seeing as there is a windsurf clinic going on and w...

Yes, had a great sail at WSM yesterday. Arrived at what I thought was earlyish for the high tide (4 hrs before high tide) to see just one windsurfer already out, whizzing around in the distance at speed in the waves. That sailor soon came in though and turned out to be Tony, with a large hole in his...

OK Ian, will look out for you 'possibly' being there. Otherwise, enjoy your cycle.

WSM Tuesday 1 Sept

I was thinking of going to WSM tomorrow - high tide just before 6.00pm, so presumably I could sail from 3.00pm?? Anyone else planning on being there?

Axbridge on YouTube

This clip of windsurfing at Axbridge on 8 July was hidden away in Mark's posting. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Fz74HFv62U It was taken by Dave Sweeting, an Axbridge sailor, who was also responsible for the WSM clip (taken by a camera mounted on his helmet). The colours are beautiful - looks almos...

Yes, a great day at Portland. Left Bristol under dark clouds and rain to find blue skies , sun (and the Gerrys) at the Boat Yard, Portland. Mike and Pierette soon arrived, followed by Ian (can't believe he did not know it was going to be a windy day on the south coast!!) , Neroli and Axel. Huge wind...

...and (.... as I'm finding out  ) also the world of never getting your car clean from WSM sand ever again! It was great fun though!

sunday 20th

My turn for a duty at Axbridge, unfortunately - so I spent several hours in the Galley making up rolls, and serving tea and coffee to the Dinghy sailors  . Fortunately it was pretty quiet and I was allowed to escape at 2.30pm, which coincided with the wind getting up. Spent a v pleasant couple...

Axbridge Sat 19

Superb day - Axbridge at its best. Westerly, 22 knts , sunny, overflowing with water and no dinghies! Started on a 5.5 and 105, and changed down to my 4.75 after one run. Fully powered up from 12.00 until 5.00. Pity my small board was in for repair. Nice to see other Nomads enjoying themselves - Kei...

Thought I'd better make some sort of posting seeing I was spotted by Ian and Neroli at Hayling at the weekend. I'd gone down for the weekend mainly because of a Simon Bornhoff social sailing day organised for Sunday. Overall had a good weekend although I didn't meet up with Simon and crew in the end...

Thanks Martin - I don't have these issues to think about at Axbridge. I'll probably stay at the local pond!!

I was half thinking of Portland tomorrow - given had such a good time there last Sunday. Is the tide (and lack of water) a problem there tomorrow? Thanks.

The forecasts for tomorrow are not looking too good (not the ones I'm looking at anyway). I'm verging on not going now, on the basis of not enough wind - unless someone knows otherwise about tomorrow's wind? Sue
