Possible cause of chain breakage

Post by spinout » Wed Jul 19, 2006 09:14

Cleaning the rear hub on Sunday, I noticed that the cogs on the rear cassette seemed a bit loose and were moving independently of each other (a bit). On closer inspection it transpires that the lock ring was loose and that the cogs are quite worn.

I guess this could account for chain breakage as the chain wouldn't be able to move 'normally' from cog to cog.

Soo... looks like Chain Reaction will be recieving some more hard earned dosh.
