Slack lines as you get planing.

Post by DanO »

Any of your tipsters out there want to help me out.
When I get on the plane, the harness lines suddenly go slack.
I've shortened the lines, and try and keep my arms straight, pushing the rig away and leaning out which all helps.
Does this sound right, or should I be doing something else?

should be no need to shorten the lines .
just keep the rig as upright as you can , if not already there move your hands in from the grip of death wide spread closer to where the harness lines are fixed , the important thing is to let the pull from the rig go through the lines so no pulling into the boom with your arms .

Kelvin's hit the nail on the head.

Push your shoulder back and push the boom away from you into the upright position as Kelvin suggests, forces the weight off your arms and into your harness....
If found, please return to the pub.

Thanks guys, I'll give it a go.
There's a lot to think about out there, but hoping to get a lot of sessions in this year, and hopefully it will start to become more instinctive.

Don't think about it, just relax your grip on the boom and let the rig pull you. If you catapult you know you should have been leaning back more. Easy.... :D
