Camel Trail Single Tracks

Post by NigelP »

I was talking to a local on my last visit to Daymer Bay and he recommended the following local places to ride:

Bishops Wood leading to Hustyns Wood
After Wadebridge, at first arched bridge - where road crosses over - go up steps, turn right and follow lane. Go over river and enter Bishops Wood on the right. Cross over lane in Bishops Wood to enter Hustyns Wood. Woods offer great single track, but are little used/known

Dunmere Woods
Where the trail splits at Bodmin, leave Camel trail via pub car park. Go over road bridge, up hill and enter woods at gateway. Singletrack and some technical, riding inc. a great roll off (somewhere!)

Cardinham woods
Leave Bodmin on A38, follow signs, park at Café. Good single track.

Clay Trails
At St Austel. Fairly tame.

Mineral Trails, Portreath
A30 to Redruth, A3047 then B3300 to Portreath. Starting point for an off road coast to coast route. However, also has some excellent technical sections around the old mine workings. Information centre is very helpful on where to ride.
