A hot-off-the-press report from the new downhill course is here

Anyone fancy it??
It's an ill wind that never blows at all.

That does sound super gnarly!! and also super scary!!

The Trials 2 Trails course we have just been on in the Lake District, did teach you how to do drop-off. but I'm not sure I'm quite ready for the jumps and drops described!! one day, one day........

Next time we go I think we should have a serious look at this. Perhaps after the normal route. How can it be more dificult than the 4 stage Rowberrow downhill ? :D
I will learn to carve! (and jump)

I think you probably missed the hidden irony in my post. I can't honestly see me ever doing that kind of stuff.

Steve, as long as it is only a look! I think the big sheer drop-offs are where it's more difficult. You have to be able to "manual", i.e. get the front wheel up before you go over the drop so as to land cleanly rather than straight over the bars  I would advise wearing a full-face helmet for that kind of stuff, and even then you'll probably trash that!
As you say, worth a look...

btw Martin, your irony was very well hidden... I thought you were being serious!

You have to be able to "manual", i.e. get the front wheel up before you go over the drop so as to land cleanly rather than straight over the bars
And that is only half the skill..... the harder part is to stop your weight going backwards as you go over the drop to ensure that you bring the front wheel down rather than back flip on landing :D.

Still, with their new found skills, RaV will show us how it is done........

I'm not so sure about that yet - the new found skills need fine tuning me thinks!
