Weston this weekend?

What Nomadic events are coming up. Also, if anyone's planning a non-Nomadically-arranged trip and/or looking for others to join in.

Weston this weekend?

Post by GregB »

Hi All
Would it be enough wind to have a session in Weston this weekend?

Off the topic. Where do you guys repair your sails? It looks like one of the battens got into luff sleeve. I would appreciate any suggestions.
Cheers

Hi Greg
Looks promising for wind at WSM this weekend. Can't make today, but planning on sailing Sunday afternoon.
I have a couple of sails in for repair with Bristol Sails at the moment - see the link on this website under 'other stuff' - 'local shops'.
Maybe see you on the beach tomorrow?

Justin.

As Justin says, looks promising. Wind looking a bit light today in the Bristol Channel http://www.cbwac.com/harbour/flatholm/C ... o_Plus.htm but should pick up later, probably after the tide has gone out! The flags are standing out at Burnham though http://www.burnham-on-sea.com/webcam/ so could be worth a gamble. Maybe a bit more tomorrow and the later tide should help ( high tide 1pm) so I'm planning to make the trip.
As for sail repairs, I need some too!
Should've been here yesterday.

I had one sail repaired by Bristol sails and they did a very good job. You just need for the sail to be clean when you drop it off and not full of Weston Super Mare sand/mud.

If tear in mono film not too bad try some poly tunnel repair tape. Very cheap and seems to do the job very well. I have some tears on one sail more than a foot long and the tape has held for a couple of years now.

Hopefully enough wind tomorrow, so might see you all there.

Sorry, link for poly tunnel repair tape does not work.

Just do a search on ebay and you should be able to find it.

I'm also planning on Weston for Sunday afternoon.

Also Bristol Sails do a discount on sail repairs for Nomads members.

Thank you all for all replies.
See you on Sunday. What time are you going to be there roughly?
