The Kanpp or Porthcawl tomorrow afternoon?

What Nomadic events are coming up. Also, if anyone's planning a non-Nomadically-arranged trip and/or looking for others to join in.

The Kanpp or Porthcawl tomorrow afternoon?

Post by nicwoody »

Not sure about tides for the Knap, but was toying with the idea of their or Porthcawl as best wind? Or even Weston? Again wind only looks good after 3.30/4pm?

Hi Nic

Looks low tide at the Knap tomorrow (Saturday) is around 4.00pm. We usually sail it about 3 hours leading up to low tide, and 1/2 hour to an hour afterwards (but watch you don't get swept around the corner once the tide turns!!).

The Knap needs a bit of sun really to be at it's best. Not sure it is forecast to be sunny either tomorrow or Sunday.

Newton - I'm not familiar with tides there, and the best tide state to sail.

I am still keeping an eye on it - but not tempted at the moment!!

Have fun if you get out.

Tides less of an issue at Newton...so I'm gonna head there...so long as an incoming tide..... it's ok....

Hi Justin

I am pondering on a sail tomorrow - I was thinking Knap looked OK.
Out of interest - why are you preferring Newton over Knap?

Hi Sue
Tomorrow forecast a bit cloudy for a 'perfect' sea breeze, but with perhaps just enough prevailing wind to make Newton good (for my 5.7m sail). I could be wrong, but as I much prefer the conditions at Newton (when it is windy) I'm going to take the chance on Newton tomorrow.

More Qs, Justin :)

What time are you planning on arriving, and getting on the water?
What's the score with the parking there these days?

Thanks

Porthcawl tomorrow afternoon

Post by Justin »

Planning on sailing from midday/1pm. Parking has been tidied up a bit recently, and so far this year for free.
