this week

What Nomadic events are coming up. Also, if anyone's planning a non-Nomadically-arranged trip and/or looking for others to join in.

this week

Post by Graham_U »

It looks like there there should be some wind this week. Tues/Weds look promising or a bit damp, any one got any plans? I was thinking of a trip one day (Hamworthy probably) and WSM the other, but interested if anyone else going anywhere.

Hi Graham

Weds could be OK at WSM - and the tide timing is good.

I'll probably decide tomorrow morning. Lorraine has her eye on it :D.

I have taken a days leave for tomorrow (Wednesday).
Not decided where i am going yet, possibly Portland or possibly Weston Super Mare.
Looks like there being a slight chance of a slight breeze on the South Coast :)
So Portland looking my favourite at the moment.

I'm going to give WSM a go but it looks like we may end up waiting for the falling tide when the wind is due to pick up.

OK, packed the car, will sort out something to eat then head off, although I think Ian made the right choice.

I thought i had made the wrong choice this morning Graham, what with the rain and light winds.

Fortunately the wind did kick in this afternoon together with a nice clear blue sky. So definitely was worth it in the end.
Hopefully Weston was just as good.

We had the blue skies, but very marginal winds. I had two good runs planing all the way on my Kombat97/6.5 but other than that it was mainly wobbling between waves and standing on the shore waiting for the wind. The forecast wind after high tide never happened with the exception of a downpour squall came through late when I had already started de-rigging, but it only lasted 10-15 mins. Also its amazing how they have managed to creat a lull just off Dismaland so even the windsurfers have a bad time near there :(

Decent session in the sunshine yesterday (Thursday) at Weston. Planing up and down on my 6.3/110L combo from around 5pm till gone 7, the first hour and a bit being especially good before the wind started to ease slightly and it gradually got more marginal. Only a handful of us out, not Dismal at all. It was also motorbike night so very busy along the Prom as I drove away. :D :D
