Last Chance to Influence Next Year's Programme of Events

Post by Viv Powell » Sat Jan 08, 2005 13:13

We have our final events committee meeting on Tuesday evening, before going into print with next year's programme :D

Any one with any more input to either the away day or pub events, this is your last chance! :!: :!:

For Info on how we choose - See Brian's "Chairman's Waffle" article in the December newsletter.

(Yay - After this post I should be a "beach starter"!! )

Dear Beach starter,

Many congratulations, may your future posts help you continue your rapid progress in the hall of fame.

Can I vote for a social at the Sway in Rowberrow :D

Also the Queens Arms in Bleadon (recent Butcombe acquisition) for a visit after an evening sail at Weston.
If found, please return to the pub.

Dear revered water starter 8)

I will put your suggestions forward - don't think we've tried the Sway can you tell us where it is

By the way, we have a social at the Ship in Keynsham in June - not as close to the BMX park as the Lockkeeper, but a good time of year for an evening ride beforehand :D

Ok - 'tis done. The Swan at Rowberrow is on the menu for next year :D :D

It also appears in June - completely coincidental I assure you - so an evening ride is possible beforehand for that one also

The complete timetable for the year will be available on the website soon, keep a look out for it.

Viv

Pubs for the future??

Post by MartinF » Wed Jan 12, 2005 20:15

Too late for this year, but here's a thought  for the future following research into pubs in deepest WSM...

The 2005 GBG reveals a couple of potential worthies in WSM:
  • Dragon Inn, Meadow Street (a Wetherspoons house, so may be a bit too noisy for a social)

Off the Rails, Station Approach (part of the station buffet, apparently).
Could we encourage our WSM "rep" to conduct local research into these :?: (please, Brian)
It's an ill wind that never blows at all.
