Tonights Points West Tue 24 Jan

Post by DudleyB »

I usually listen to the local news at lunchtime while Iam working.
There was an item on todays programme about a local lad who
intends to windsurf across the English Channel in March. I think
his name was Dan Simpson. There was a small amout of Video
Showing him at Farmoor Reservoir.
They usually repeat most of the lunchtime programme on the
early evening bullitin
could try harder

We recently got Freesat installed (sky with no subscription). This includes Extreme Sports Channel (ch. 419). This is normally loonies Surfing, BMX and Skate boarding, with the occasional bit of Kite Surfing. However last night I found a whole half hour of PWA windsurfing. Seeing what they were up to I think Val's starting to worry as I've got the clubs video on Wave sailing on the shelf.

The end shot of the show, showed the back window of a van, that said something like "Kite Surfing is a crime" :D

I've just looked at their website: http://www.extreme.com/index.asp The next showings are:

Tuesday 31st January

19:00 Pwa Gran Canaria
Freestyle windsurfing competition featuring the Dutch legend Bjorn Dunkerbeck, the amazing Moreno sisters and Ricardo Campello.

Friday 3rd February
