Daymer this weekend?

What Nomadic events are coming up. Also, if anyone's planning a non-Nomadically-arranged trip and/or looking for others to join in.

Who's up for it?
It's an ill wind that never blows at all.

I've managed to wangle a free weekend, so I'm planning to go too! :D
It will mark ten years since my first Nomads trip... to Daymer. Quite an eventful one I seem to remember! Always was one of my favourite venues, and it's been a while since we've had good winds for the Nomads trip there. Forecast currently looking promising...

Is anyone looking to share a lift? half the cost of fuel & parking (notwithstanding paying to park the trailer)? I'd be happy to drive.

Me too. :D But only heading down Sat am.

Only 4 at pub tonight and we're all going. Seems a few are already in Cornwall.

I might be up for this. Does the forecast look good? I'd travel down Saturday am also.

It looks like I'll be collecting Al Donald & sharing a lift with him.

I've never sailed here, so I was just wondering where to go and what time people were meeting up.

Cheers,

James.

James - it's all here - http://www.bristolnomads.org.uk/locatio ... er_bay.htm

There's a link from there to a map showing the car park where we meet up - probably any time between 09:00 & 12:00.

You'll not find any signs pointing to Daymer Bay, but there are full directions on the page I linked to above.

Got up pretty early on Saturday morning and headed down to Daymer. Not a bad drive really except for the rain and mist.
Never having been there before, I had no idea what to expect. I must admit that I got that nervous adrenaline feeling when I saw all those waves rolling in. However, this was Polzeath not Daymer. Another few minutes and I'd arrived.
The conditions were pretty marginal, so I didn't get a sail (need more kit). Not a bad thing as my arms were still aching from Thursday.
However, there were a few people going well on larger sails and some light people going well on smaller sails. I was quite impressed by the tandem kite surfers.

It was really good to meet some people from the club and the walk on the coast path over to Polzeath was great. The cafe was also quite entertaining. Bob, the Spaniel was awsome.

Cheers,

James.
