General details:Similar location to Sandbanks, but works better when there's more W to the wind. The beach is a safe patrol beach. ![]() Directions to the right place:![]() How the winds work:
![]() Tidal conditions:HW springs tend to be 09:30 - 10:00 and again 14:00. HW neaps are 14:30 - 18:30. It's easier to go by LW times here, though: LW springs are around 17:00; LW neaps around 09:00 - 13:00 (yes - the neap tides really rush by!). All times are GMT. Like Poole Harbour, there is a double high tide around springs - although not quite so pronounced. ie: The tide comes in, goes out a little, then comes back in a little before disappearing as if down a drain. ![]() Hazards:
![]() Facilities:Small car park - free in Winter. Although the car park at Branksome is small, there are 2 other larger car parks just 5 minutes walk away - only downfall is that they don't have fresh water showers Just beside the car park is quite a nice shop selling boards snacks etc Toilets same location Surf rescue next door Nice beach restaurant that does do take-aways ![]() B&B's / campsites
